Slot Cars.

Funny Rik should make a comment of slot cars. We went over to the Q-mart this morning for a few laps on the slot car track. It was pretty cool. Jeb needs to figure out how to not floor it into the turns. We spent most of our time waiting for someone to put the car back on the track, but it was still a whole lot of fun.

*please ignore the pole in the middle of the picture...

Maybe when Rik comes up to babysit we can run over to the track for a few laps before Kris and I leave for the weekend. Slot cars could be a whole lot of fun with a bunch of guys racing eachother. I think they had 8 "lanes", so 8 people could race at a time.

Still no baby... any day now...

No baby... yet.

Well, still waiting... we are definitely going to see the baby by next Tuesday/Wednesday, though.

Kristen is quite the "trooper". She had been picking up extra Saturdays for the past year or so and she kept going until this past Saturday, 3 days before her due date. Then she went into work for her final two days before maternity leave. Yep, she worked on her due date! Amazing...

This past Saturday, while Kristen was at work, Jeb and I took the Mini around a course we had set up. We were really pushing the car to its limits! There was one point in the course where you can get some serious air!

Not to mention the LOOP-DE-LOOP!

It's snowing...

I was kind of bummed when I heard it was going to snow this weekend. Sunday's are the one day of the week it seems that I am actually able to get out on my bike and ride, and if there was snow on the ground, so much for that. But then came my dad to the rescue! He said he needed to stop by Lowes, which is right down the street, and he would watch Jacob while I went for a ride! Another benefit of having Lowes right down the street!

I went down the High Rocks again. That place is a lot of fun. Technical, with a lot of drop offs and rocks, that's my bag! The loop there, that I know of at least, is only about an hour, but boy is it fun. My bike has been ridden hard and put up wet for the last 5 times I've been out. Needless to say there were a lot of funny creaks and moans, I think that rear wheel is finally shot.

I was thinking while on the ride that I've had that bike since 1996, that makes it 10 years old! Holy Crap, time flies!

So, thanks to my Dad for coming over so I could go for a ride! Thanks Dad.

Harry Potter

Well, I finally finished the available Harry Potter books on cd. Probably took me 5 months to listen to them all, between waiting for them to become available at the library and actually listening to them. The last book was 18 hours x 6 books equals 108 hours, that's a lot of driving! After the the end of this one I'm a little bothered by the fact that I'm going to have to wait for the author to finish it. Damn, am I going to be waiting in line at 12:00 to get my book... who knows I might actually read it and not listen to it? Anyway, can't wait for the next book...

ARGH!!!!!

Dell support "chat" frickin' BLOWS!
I spent the last two hours chatting to try and get my dvd burner working. I got disconnected twice! After spending half an hour with each tech!
I can't do it anymore tonight, I'll blow a gasket!

It would probably be easier to take the burner out of my old computer and install it into the new one...

"Step away from the computer sir"

Sunday

Finished the bike Sunday afternoon Pretty happy with it, I'll post a photo tonight when I get home. I went out for a short ride afterwards and the bike felt great! I felt like I was flying on it! Sweet! This bike rocks... I got to the turn around and changed my tune. Man this bike sucks, I can't get it going, ugh... Oh wait a minute there's a headwind, duh! The bike felt good, I'm happy with it. I think it could use a few parts "tweaks", like a carbon post. Hmmm, maybe Brent has one laying around?

I won the eliminator pool. I picked the Steelers and 31 total points, I even called the final score, kind of scary. I don't think anybody is going to let me play the pools anymore, I ended up winning 3 of the 4 pools we had going this football season... Looks like I'm going to get the iPod a little sooner than I thought.

Two weeks until Kristen's due date... any day now...
